Mind, brain, body, and behavior is the cornerstone of Dr. Josué’s practice and approach. Each person is unique in their cultural and social background and physical makeup; treatment requires an understanding of the whole person. Dr. Josué takes an individual, integrative approach to psychiatry, using both psychopharmacological tools (medication) and evidence-based non-psychopharmacological strategies (psychotherapy, nutrition, and brain/behavioral modification tools) to help patients develop and maintain stability and emotional wellness. Dr. Josué received his medical degree from Morehouse School of Medicine in Atlanta, Georgia, and did his residency at the University of Illinois at Chicago, where he spent a year in pediatrics and three years in psychiatry, including women’s and veteran’s psychiatry, and received a year of special training in behavioral neurology and neuropsychiatry. He received an additional year of special training in neuropsychiatry and developmental disorders at Shepherd-Pratt, under Dr. Vassilis Koliatsos. For the past twelve years, Dr. Josué has practiced medicine in the greater Washington, D.C., area, in both private and group practice and correctional psychiatry. He is a member of the American Medical Association, the American Psychiatric Association, the Maryland Psychiatric Society, the American Neuropsychiatric Association, Onyx Medical Society of Howard County, and the Society for Neuroscience. Dr. Josué treats children, adolescents, and adults in his office in Laurel, Maryland; areas of practice include ADHD, PTSD, depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder/mood disorders, trauma, and substance use. Telepsychiatry is available.
